Almaty has identified the winners of the first stage of state grants for the implementation of new business ideas. Funding will be received by 164 city residents from socially vulnerable categories of the population. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Applications were accepted from June 24 to July 8, 2026. In total, 377 people applied for state support. The commission reviewed applications from July 13 to 21.

The size of one grant is up to 400 MCI, or 1.73 million tenge. The money is intended for launching and developing entrepreneurial projects.

Among the approved areas are food production, public catering, clothing tailoring, handmade products, car service, beauty industry, furniture production, cleaning and household services. Projects in education, medicine and social services, IT, digital technologies, construction and repair also received support.

Most of the winners represent large families – 103 people will receive grants. Another 28 recipients are persons with special needs, 27 are raising children with special needs. The winners also included citizens who lost their breadwinner and recipients of targeted social assistance.

The results of the review of applications were sent to participants' personal accounts on the business.enbek.kz portal.

Grant amount and conditions

The maximum amount of a state grant is 400 MCI (1.73 million tenge). These funds can be used to start a business, purchase equipment, raw materials, and other entrepreneurial expenses.

Participation conditions

Citizens belonging to socially vulnerable categories could apply: large families, persons with special needs, those who lost their breadwinner, recipients of targeted social assistance, and others.
