Since the beginning of the year, the environmental performance of more than 3,000 buses has been checked in Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the city akimat, specialists inspected a total of 3,108 buses. Monitoring results showed that 1,420 of them, or approximately 45.7%, do not meet environmental requirements.
"Appropriate measures are being taken regarding the identified violations of the law," the akimat said.
It is noted that the monitoring is carried out within the framework of atmospheric air protection rules in Almaty. The measure is aimed at reducing the volume of harmful substances emitted by vehicles and other sources of pollution.
