In the Turksib district of Almaty, a 12-year-old boy was stabbed to death by his peers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The shocking crime occurred on June 10. According to relatives, Abylai was stabbed 8-9 times by children one year older than him. "Abylai was brutally killed by 13-year-old boys who studied at the same school with him, stabbing him 9 times. The incident happened in the RV-90 area of the Turksib district around 7:00 PM. Bleeding, he died in the hallway of his own home," said a relative of the deceased.

Family friend Ekaterina Moiseenko said that Abylai was very kind and never got into conflicts. "We are friends with the family. Our children go to MMA training together. The police say Abylai was texting with the killer. I opened Abylai's phone myself and saw everything. There was no correspondence, no phone calls. The second boy saw Abylai being killed and ran away. He didn't even call for help," said Ekaterina Moiseenko.

The killer fled after the act. "One stab was to the stomach, and 8 to the chest. Abylai said, 'I'll go to the dormitory and come back.' Children are children, they played together. How they called Abylai, why they called him, no one knows. The killers study at the same school, they are only one year older than Abylai. They were walking in the corridor, when one of them stabbed Abylai, he bent down, and then he stabbed him several times with force," said the family friend.

The second boy is considered a witness, not a suspect. "The second boy says he didn't hit or stab Abylai. But if he saw it, why didn't he call for help? At first they said Abylai was hit by a car, but in reality it was different. Abylai slid and sat down, leaning against the wall. He was seen by a man with a bag, who probably called an ambulance," said Ekaterina Moiseenko.

The Almaty Police Department reported that a 13-year-old resident of Almaty has been detained on suspicion of committing the crime. "According to preliminary data, the suspect and the victim knew each other. According to initial investigation data, the tragedy occurred during a conflict between minors. Currently, the suspect has been placed in a specialized institution," the police said.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of murder. An investigation is underway. According to the police, the suspect's parents will also be held accountable for improper fulfillment of child-rearing duties.
