Almaty police have released new details in the investigation of the murder of a 12-year-old boy that occurred in the Turksib district of the city. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the police department, a special investigative-operational group has been created to investigate the crime, and the progress of the criminal case is under special control of the department's leadership.
According to preliminary data, obtained including from studying correspondence and CCTV footage, the deceased teenager came to the suspect's home to sort out their relationship.
"It has been preliminarily established, including from available video recordings and correspondence, that the victim teenager came to the suspect's place of residence to sort out their relationship. The stab wounds were inflicted during a conflict that arose from hostile relations," the Almaty Police Department reported.
The suspect, who is also a minor, has been detained. During the investigation, he was placed in a specialized institution.
The police emphasized that the investigation continues, and all circumstances of the tragedy will be established within the framework of the criminal case.
The tragedy occurred on June 12 in one of the microdistricts of the Turksib district of Almaty. According to police, the fatal stab wounds were inflicted on the schoolboy by his 13-year-old acquaintance, who attended the same school.
It was preliminarily established that a conflict occurred between the teenagers, which ended in a stabbing. After the incident, the suspect was detained and placed in a specialized institution.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of murder. Investigators continue to establish all circumstances of the incident.
In addition, the police reported that based on the results of the investigation, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of the suspect's parents. The issue of holding them accountable for improper fulfillment of duties in raising a minor is being considered.
