A criminal case has been opened in Almaty over the death of a 12-year-old boy. A 13-year-old teenager is the suspect. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Earlier, information appeared on social media that the schoolboy had sustained multiple stab wounds. According to law enforcement, the tragedy occurred on June 10 in the Turksib district of the city.
"It has been preliminarily established that the injuries were inflicted during a conflict between minors. Currently, the suspect has been placed in a specialized institution," the press service of the Almaty Police Department told the Kazinform portal.
According to police, the detained teenager was acquainted with the deceased. A criminal case has been initiated on the charge of murder. Investigators are conducting a set of necessary measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
Also, based on the results of the investigation, the issue of holding the minor's parents accountable for improper fulfillment of child-rearing duties will be considered. Other circumstances of the case are not yet disclosed in the interests of the investigation.
