September 1 will be a festive but busy day not only for parents but also for Almaty roads. Kursiv LifeStyle tells how the city prepared for the start of the school year and what will change on the streets in the first days of September. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
As reported by Almaty Jol, during the first two weeks of September, about 500 additional buses will be put on city routes. They will be sent to the busiest directions to reduce intervals during peak hours. The metro will also be strengthened. The number of trains is promised to be increased from 11 to 13, and in the morning the interval between them will be about three minutes.
For transporting schoolchildren, 300 buses will be involved. They will serve 60 schools and carry more than 13 thousand children. Residents are asked to take into account the additional load near schools and, if possible, plan their route in advance.
"From September 1 to 5, part of the akimat staff will be transferred to remote work. Large companies and organizations are also recommended to consider remote work or a flexible start of the working day," the city authorities advised.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle wrote that Almaty residents were asked to switch to buses on September 1. Stationary posts and mobile patrols will operate near schools. If traffic jams form in certain areas, police will manually regulate traffic.
