On June 27, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and six other cities of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to Kazhydromet, adverse weather conditions are forecast in Karaganda, Temirtau, Taldykorgan, and Almaty during the day, and at night in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, and Ridder.
As experts explained, unfavorable meteorological conditions occur when calm weather, weak wind, fog, and temperature inversion combine. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, leading to deterioration of air quality.
Forecasters warn that during such periods, the risk of negative health impacts increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.
The level of air pollution is influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other pollution sources. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to carry necessary medications. Specialists advise limiting physical activity outdoors and, if possible, moving activities indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that on June 27, a storm warning was issued across Kazakhstan: thunderstorms, heat up to +41°C, and hail.
