A resident of Almaty beat a young man who was looking for a lost item, mistaking him for searching for drugs. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Nearby patrol units were dispatched to the scene. Police quickly identified and detained the suspect. The suspect said he thought the passerby was looking for a drug stash. However, the victim was looking for his lost item. As a result of the beating, the man sustained bodily injuries. An ambulance was called to the scene, and the victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination. Currently, an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the conflict and all circumstances of the incident.
