In Almaty, a man drove his car off an impound lot without permission after it had been placed there for unpaid administrative fines. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the city police department, the vehicle had been placed on a special impound lot due to several unpaid administrative fines.
"A few hours later, the car owner came to the impound lot to collect his documents. However, instead of collecting the documents, he got into the car and drove off the impound lot on his own," the statement said.
Police launched a search for the vehicle, found it near Raiymbek Avenue and Kuderin Street, and stopped its movement. The car was taken back to the special impound lot.
The man was taken to the Zhetysu district police department. Three administrative protocols were drawn up against the driver.
In addition, a criminal case has been opened over the unauthorized removal of the car from the impound lot.
