Rescuers found two teenagers who had gone to the mountains the day before and did not return home at the appointed time. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Circumstances of the incident

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a report of their disappearance was received today in the Bostandyk district, near the Big Almaty Peak, at an altitude of about 3680 meters above sea level. It was not possible to contact the teenagers, and their geolocation data could not be obtained either.

Search operations

Rescuers of the Monitoring and Operational Response Center immediately began searching. The teenagers were found in the Aysay gorge.

The rescuers brought them out of the mountainous area to a safe place and handed them over to their parents. The teenagers did not require medical assistance.

MES warning

"The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges tourists to study the route in advance, take into account the weather and the difficulty of the terrain, inform relatives about the planned route and return time. Rescuers also recommend keeping the phone charged and not going to the mountains alone," the ministry's statement said.
