The search for a citizen of the Republic of Korea continues in the mountains of Almaty. In the area of Talgar Pass, 10 vehicles and eight canine teams are involved — previously there were eight and three, respectively, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
About 130 people are taking part in the search and rescue operation in the Medeu district — employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, police and volunteers. They are using 11 drones and aviation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The work is complicated by mountainous terrain, the large area of the territory being surveyed and a significant elevation difference. Rescuers are checking hard-to-reach areas, including gorges and mountain slopes.
The search is being conducted continuously and is under the control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Earlier, «Kursiv» wrote that on September 28, a man born in 1953 went up the «Shymbulak» cable car together with a group, after which he decided to descend to the city on his own. He did not return to the hotel. A report about the disappearance was received by the «112» dispatch center on September 29, and the search began the same day.
