A new Air 112 site will allow rescuers and equipment to be delivered to high-altitude moraine lakes in 10–15 minutes. It was built using extra-budgetary funds for rescue operations and preventive work in hard-to-reach areas, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Minister of Emergency Situations Murat Mukhanov familiarized himself with the site's capabilities during a working trip. He was briefed that specialists will be able to fly from here to moraine lakes, including for their safe emptying.

"The flight time to the moraine lakes is only 10–15 minutes," the ministry's statement says.

The minister also visited the Ayusai dam, where the mudflow situation is monitored around the clock. A dispatch point operates on the dam's crest, where four specialists of Kazselezashchita are on duty. A viewing platform was also built on the territory of the structure.

Philanthropists help develop the infrastructure through the Fund of Kazakh Rescuers. Extra-budgetary funds are also attracted for these works.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, an additional helipad is planned to be built in the mountains at an altitude of about 3,200 meters above sea level in the future. It is expected to expand rescue units' access to hard-to-reach areas.

Earlier, Kursiv reported on how rescuers used a helicopter and seven drones to search for a foreigner near Almaty.
