A video circulated on social media showing a Mercedes driver demonstratively and grossly violating traffic rules on the streets of Almaty, the city police department's press service reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Police officers, during monitoring of the internet space, quickly identified the violator. He turned out to be a 19-year-old local resident. As it turned out during the inspection, the young man has no right to drive vehicles at all.
"For this violation, he was brought to administrative responsibility. In addition, for demonstrative behavior and violation of public order, the driver was taken to the police, and by decision of the specialized inter-district court for administrative offenses of Almaty, he was held accountable for petty hooliganism," the police reported.
The violator was sentenced to five days of administrative arrest. The Mercedes car was taken to an impound lot using a tow truck.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in the Almaty region, an accident is being investigated in which a car drove into the yard of a private house where a family was celebrating a birthday. The birthday girl suffered the most severe injuries — doctors had to amputate her leg.
