A helicopter of the Emergency Ministry was deployed to extinguish dry vegetation in the mountains of the Almaty region. The fire occurred in the Enbekshikazakh district near the village of Kainazar, the agency reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
A total of 17 water drops were carried out from the air, with a combined volume of 51 tons of water. The work of ground crews is complicated by steep slopes and the absence of access roads to the fire sources.
More than 50 employees of the Emergency Situations Department, forestry, and local executive bodies are involved in the extinguishing effort. A total of 16 units of equipment have been deployed.
According to the Emergency Ministry, there is no threat to settlements, and there are no casualties. The situation is under the agency's control.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote about a wildfire in the Markakol forestry of the East Kazakhstan region. Grass and shrubs were burning in hard-to-reach terrain; about 85 people and two Emergency Ministry helicopters were involved in the extinguishing effort. One of them transported firefighters to the fire site.
