A foreign tourist injured his arm while climbing Peak Satpayev in the mountains of Almaty region and could not descend on his own. As a result, the man had to be evacuated by helicopter. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a citizen of Germany needed help.
The rescue operation involved employees of the Republican Rescue Service "Barys" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Monitoring and Operational Response Center of the Almaty Akimat, and a Kazaviaspas helicopter.
After landing in the high mountain area, rescuers reached the victim on foot, provided first aid, and transported him to an area accessible for helicopter landing.
The tourist was then evacuated by aircraft and delivered to City Clinical Hospital No. 4 in Almaty, where he was handed over to medics for further examination and necessary assistance.
The day before, the crew of a rescue helicopter also helped a group of Russian tourists who had to be evacuated after a rockfall from a height of 3,510 meters.
Another Russian was rescued by aviation at an altitude of 4,464 meters on the way to SSU Peak. A Garmin satellite communicator helped find the injured climber.
