In the Almaty region, a driver hit pedestrians on a sidewalk. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident was caught on video. According to information circulating online, the driver first collided with a car moving in reverse, then drove onto the sidewalk and hit pedestrians.
The regional police announced that a criminal case has been opened.
The driver was detained and taken into custody.
"A pre-trial investigation is currently underway," police say.
