On June 8 at 21:55 Astana time, tremors were felt in the Almaty region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the seismic station network recorded an earthquake in southern Kazakhstan. The epicenter was located on the territory of Kazakhstan, 111 kilometers southeast of Almaty. Its coordinates are 42.920° north latitude and 78.188° east longitude, with a depth of 5 kilometers.

In the Kegen district of the Almaty region, the tremors were weak. In the village of Saty, the intensity was 2.5 points, and in the village of Zhalagash, 2 points.

After the earthquake, specialists from Kazselezashchita monitored riverbeds, hydraulic structures, as well as landslide and mudflow-prone areas. In addition, they inspected life support facilities for possible damage.

As a result, no damage was found, and all facilities continue to operate normally. No information about casualties or destruction was received.

Earlier, Kursiv reported on an earthquake in Zhetysu, which was felt by residents of Almaty and several regions of Kazakhstan. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the epicenter was located on the territory of Kazakhstan, 316 km northeast of Almaty.
