In the Karasay district of the Almaty region, a madrasah teacher beat students. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The video of the incident spread on social media. The footage shows a teacher at a mosque beating children. He dragged children by their hair, laid them on the ground and hit them. The incident occurred during summer religious literacy lessons at the mosque.
According to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK), a conflict arose among the students. Mosque teacher Düisekhan Nürberdi, while calling the children to order, gave in to emotions and committed actions that do not comply with pedagogical ethics.
"The teacher admitted his mistake and asked for forgiveness from the students' parents. The parents confirmed in writing that they have no complaints against the teacher," the SAMK said.
After the incident, the mosque teacher was dismissed from his position.
