Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated a woman and three children from a small island in the middle of the Talgarka River in the Almaty region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the ministry, a report of the incident was received at the 112 dispatch center from the city of Talgar. The woman and three children found themselves on a small island in the middle of the river and could not return to the shore on their own.
Upon arrival, the rescuers organized a rescue operation. "The rescuers stretched a rescue rope across the river using a rope and a fire belt, after which they organized a safe crossing. In just 13 minutes, the woman and three children were safely delivered to the shore," the ministry reported.
It was noted that the rescued individuals did not require medical assistance.
The ministry reminded citizens to observe safety measures near water bodies and not to endanger themselves or children when near rivers with strong currents.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a man who fell from a suspension bridge into the Irtysh River in Semey was rescued.
