In the Enbekshikazakh district of the Almaty region, approximately 20 kilometers from the village of Nurly, near the Ili River, a fire broke out on dry grass and reeds in an open area. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The extinguishing is complicated by marshy and hard-to-reach terrain. Emergency workers, specialists from the Shelek forestry, and a helicopter crew from Kazaviaspas JSC are working at the scene. In total, about 70 personnel, 21 pieces of equipment, and a helicopter from Kazaviaspas JSC have been involved in extinguishing.
Currently, the firefighting is coordinated by the head of the Emergency Situations Department of the Almaty region. As of now, three of the four fire sites have been localized. At the fourth site, extinguishing continues in an intensified mode. The work is complicated by the lack of access roads to the fire. To ensure the passage of fire and heavy equipment, an access road is being laid.
