A road accident occurred in the yard of a private house in the village of Koksay, Karasai district, Almaty region. As a result, two people were seriously injured, one of whom lost a leg. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident happened during the 40th birthday celebration of Symbat Klysheva, who lost her leg that same day. The car crashed through the gate and hit people sitting at the dastarkhan (table) in the yard.
According to the victim's sister, Sholpan Klysheva, the accident occurred around 1 a.m. "We had gathered relatives for Symbat's birthday. A 24-year-old girl without a driver's license confused the gas and brake pedals. My 4-year-old child was also sitting there. He had his legs up on the chair, otherwise he would have lost his leg too. Another relative had 6 ribs broken," she said.
Neighbor Bakytbek also heard the incident: "Our window was open. When we ran over, the car was already in the yard. The owner of the house was in shock, shouting that his wife's leg was torn off. There have been hits to this gate before, but not this severe. Cars don't slow down."
Currently, the victims are in the hospital receiving medical care. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
