A court verdict has been issued in the Almaty region for embezzlement of subsidies and issuance of fake invoices. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to case materials, the head of the agro-industrial complexes "BAGDAULET i PK" and "AMANTAU-2023" illegally received subsidies for two years under state programs supporting the agro-industrial complex. False information was submitted to the Department of Agriculture about the purchase of raw milk, as well as the production and sale of butter and cheese.
Based on this, more than 251 million tenge in subsidies were illegally paid from the budget, the Financial Monitoring Agency reported. The cooperatives lacked the necessary production capacities, equipment, workers, and other resources to carry out the stated activities.
During the investigation, a scheme was uncovered involving the issuance of fake electronic invoices through the individual entrepreneur "ComputerService," used to formalize sham transactions and artificially reduce the tax burden of counterparties. As a result, 416 million tenge in taxes were not paid to the budget.
The court sentenced two participants in the criminal scheme to 6 years in prison. Additionally, a BMW car obtained through criminal means was confiscated to state revenue.
