In the Almaty region, authorities are investigating a traffic accident in which a car crashed into the yard of a private home where a family was celebrating a birthday. The birthday girl sustained the most severe injuries — doctors had to amputate her leg. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing KTK TV channel.

According to the TV channel, the incident occurred during the celebration of Symbat Klysheva's 40th birthday. Relatives said the family was sitting at the festive table when a passenger car rammed the gate at high speed and drove into the yard. The impact threw people in different directions.

The victim's relatives said the woman lost a lot of blood and was unconscious for a long time.

"She lost a lot of blood and had great difficulty regaining consciousness. She was unconscious for more than a day," said the victim's sister, Sholpan Klysheva.

According to KTK, the car was driven by a 24-year-old woman who did not have a driver's license. Witnesses claim a 14-year-old teenager was sitting next to her. The circumstances of the car owner's presence in the vehicle are now being clarified.

In addition to the birthday girl, her sister also sustained serious injuries — she was diagnosed with fractures of six ribs. Both victims were rushed to the hospital.

As reported by Ramazan Askerov, head of the polytrauma department of Almaty City Clinical Hospital No. 7, the patient had critical damage to her left leg.

"The patient had a crush wound at the level of the upper third of the shin. Tissue viability was virtually absent; blood vessels, nerves, muscles, and bone tissue were damaged," the doctor said.

According to him, doctors were forced to amputate the limb. The woman's condition is now assessed as relatively satisfactory, and she is receiving necessary treatment.

The police reported that the suspected perpetrator was detained immediately after the incident.

"It has been preliminarily established that a 24-year-old woman, while driving a car, lost control and hit two pedestrians. The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. A pre-trial investigation is being conducted on this fact," said Nuskabek Zaulanbayev, head of the police department of Karasai district, Almaty region.

The victim faces long-term treatment, rehabilitation, and possible installation of an exoprosthesis. Relatives said the woman had been preparing for an in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure for more than a year and dreamed of becoming a mother. After the incident, these plans had to be postponed.

The victim's loved ones are counting on an objective investigation and hope that the guilty party will receive the punishment provided by law.
