A walk in the mountains of Almaty region for a 74-year-old tourist ended with a rescue operation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the incident occurred in the Talgar district on the territory of the Ak-Bulak ski resort. The pensioner went up the mountain by cable car, but during the walk she lost her bearings and could not return on her own.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and specialists of the Republican Rescue Service "Barys" promptly left to search for the woman. Rescuers went up the cable car and began examining the mountainous area.
During the search and rescue operation, the pensioner was found approximately three kilometers below the observation deck. Rescuers helped her climb to a safe place.
"Fortunately, the pensioner was in satisfactory condition and did not need medical assistance," the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote about how three teenagers were rescued in the mountains from a height of more than 4,300 meters.
