This year, 458 billion tenge has been allocated to the education sector in the Almaty region, the regional akimat reports. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

3.3 billion tenge is provided for replenishing the textbook fund. In the new school year, 63,000 schoolchildren from socially vulnerable categories will receive school uniforms and educational supplies.

"Road to School" campaign

As part of the "Road to School" campaign, with the help of sponsors, support will be provided to 18,000 children. Also, 185,000 schoolchildren will be provided with free hot meals, the message says.

Transportation of students

3 billion tenge has been allocated for transporting students from remote settlements. These funds are aimed at ensuring transportation for more than 29,000 children.

New schools

In the Almaty region, to eliminate three-shift schooling, 75 new schools have been built over the past four years, and additional extensions have been built to 6 schools. Among them, thanks to state support, 26 "Schools of the Future" with a total of 24,900 places have been opened.

In addition, major repairs have been completed in 10 schools. Two more facilities are planned to be commissioned by the end of the year.
