In the Karasay district of the Almaty region, rescuers pulled a man from a pit about 3.5 meters deep. He sustained a leg injury in the fall, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The incident occurred on October 4. According to the ministry, the man born in 1995 fell into the pit due to carelessness.
Emergency Situations Ministry staff who arrived at the scene used special rescue equipment to lift the victim to the surface.
"The Emergency Situations Ministry rescuers who arrived at the scene lifted the victim to the surface using special rescue equipment," the ministry said.
After the rescue, the man was handed over to an ambulance crew. Details about his further condition have not been reported.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded that in the event of an emergency, one must call 112.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a South Korean citizen has been searched for in the mountains of Almaty for about a week.
