The Almaty Metro has resumed operations after a temporary suspension due to a massive power outage. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The Almaty city administration reported that power supply has been restored and the metro is operating again. Electric trains are running in normal mode.

"Currently, the power supply has been restored, the metro has resumed operations. Electric trains are running in normal mode. We apologize to passengers for the temporary inconvenience and thank you for your understanding," the administration said.

Earlier on August 14, due to a power outage, the movement of Almaty Metro trains was temporarily suspended. Stations were closed for entry and exit, passengers were evacuated from stations and trains.

At the same time, lighting and ventilation at the stations continued to work from backup battery power.
