Almaty Metro carried nearly 40,000 passengers before noon on September 1. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
On the first day of the new school year, passenger traffic in the Almaty Metro increased. According to the city administration, from 06:20 to 14:00 on September 1, about 40,000 passengers were transported.
Due to the start of the school year, the metro's work was organized in an enhanced mode. During morning and evening rush hours, the interval between trains was reduced to 3 minutes 27 seconds.
