The Metropoliten enterprise of the Almaty city administration ended 2025 with a loss of 6.96 billion tenge. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media. This is less than a year earlier, when the enterprise incurred a loss of 8.05 billion tenge.
Financial Indicators
According to the company's financial statements, metro revenue for the year increased by 23.2% to 2.68 billion tenge, compared to 2.17 billion tenge in 2024. However, this was not enough to cover the enterprise's expenses.
The cost of services increased to 22.05 billion tenge from 19.94 billion tenge a year earlier. As a result, the gross loss reached 19.38 billion tenge, compared to 17.77 billion tenge in 2024.
Additional Income
Other income, which amounted to 13.6 billion tenge, helped support the financial result. A year earlier, this figure was at the level of 11.68 billion tenge. Thanks to this, the operating loss decreased to 6.96 billion tenge from 8.05 billion tenge a year earlier.
After accounting for all income and expenses, the enterprise's final loss for 2025 amounted to 6.96 billion tenge.
Assets and Liabilities
The metro's assets increased by 8.8% or 24.3 billion tenge during the year, to 301.5 billion. Liabilities, in turn, increased by 49.7% or 1.5 billion tenge, to 4.5 billion.
