Unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and Taldykorgan on June 14, according to Kazhydromet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to weather forecasters, conditions conducive to the accumulation of pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere are predicted in these cities.
Specialists explain that adverse weather conditions arise from a combination of light wind, calm, fog, and temperature inversion. As a result, harmful impurities are retained near the ground, which can lead to deterioration of air quality.
Forecasters note that during such periods, the risk of negative health effects from polluted air increases, especially for people with chronic respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
Wind speed, humidity, temperature, and precipitation also affect the level of air pollution.
Residents of Almaty and Taldykorgan are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near busy roads and industrial facilities. Children, the elderly, and pregnant women are recommended to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are advised to keep necessary medications with them. Outdoor physical activities should be limited or moved indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a storm warning was issued for several regions of Kazakhstan on June 14.
