On June 23, adverse meteorological conditions (AMC) are expected in Almaty and Taldykorgan, reported Kazhydromet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to weather forecasters, conditions conducive to the accumulation of pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere are predicted in both cities.
As experts explained, adverse meteorological conditions occur when calm, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion combine. Under such conditions, harmful impurities linger near the ground, which can lead to deterioration of air quality.
The level of pollution is also affected by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.
During AMC, residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other pollution sources. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory diseases, cardiovascular system disorders, and allergy sufferers are recommended to carry necessary medications. Specialists advise limiting physical activity outdoors and, if possible, moving workouts indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Kazhydromet issued storm warnings for June 23 across Kazakhstan. Several regions are expected to experience rain, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, dust storms, strong winds, heat, and high fire danger.
