On July 29, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and four other cities of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to Kazhydromet, NMU (unfavorable meteorological conditions) are forecast in Almaty, and at night — in Astana, Temirtau, Karaganda, and Kostanay.
As experts explained, unfavorable weather conditions occur when calm, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion combine. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, leading to deterioration of air quality.
Forecasters warn that during such periods, the risk of negative health effects increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.
The level of air pollution is influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to carry necessary medications. Specialists advise limiting outdoor physical activity and, if possible, moving exercise indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that on July 29, unstable weather will persist over most of Kazakhstan. According to Kazhydromet, the country will be hit by rains with thunderstorms, hail is possible in some places, and in several regions the air temperature will rise to +44 degrees.
