On October 1, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Atyrau and five other cities in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to Kazhydromet, forecasters predict unfavorable meteorological conditions in Atyrau, Aktobe and Ust-Kamenogorsk, and at night in Almaty, Zhezkazgan and Balkhash.
What are unfavorable meteorological conditions
Unfavorable meteorological conditions arise during calm weather, weak wind, fog and temperature inversion. In such weather, pollutants can accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, worsening air quality.
Pollution levels are also affected by precipitation, humidity and air temperature. During periods of unfavorable meteorological conditions, people with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases should pay especially close attention to their well-being.
Recommendations for residents
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near busy roads and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are better off avoiding long walks.
People with chronic diseases and allergies are advised to keep necessary medications with them. Outdoor sports activities should be moved indoors where possible.
