On August 14, unfavorable meteorological conditions (NMU) are expected in Almaty and Ust-Kamenogorsk, reported by Kazhydromet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to weather forecasters, NMU are predicted in Almaty, and at night - in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

As experts explain, unfavorable meteorological conditions occur when calm, weak wind, fog and temperature inversion combine. As a result, pollutants can accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, leading to deterioration of air quality.

During such periods, the risk of negative impact of polluted air on health may increase, especially for people with chronic diseases.

The level of atmospheric pollution is also influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity and air temperature.

Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are advised to carry necessary medications with them. Physical activity outdoors should be limited and, if possible, moved to indoor facilities.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that on August 14, Kazakhstan expects extreme heat, thunderstorms, hail and squally wind. In some regions, temperatures will rise to +41 degrees.
