On October 5, unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) are expected in Almaty and Atyrau. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to Kazhydromet, UMC are forecast in Almaty, and at night in Atyrau.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions arise from a combination of calm, weak wind, fog, and temperature inversion. In such weather, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to deterioration in air quality.

During these periods, the risk of negative health effects increases, especially for people with chronic diseases. Pollution levels are also affected by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.

Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as those with allergies, are advised to carry necessary medications. Physical activity outdoors should be limited and, if possible, moved indoors.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that unstable weather will persist in Kazakhstan on October 6. According to Kazhydromet forecasts, rain and snow will fall across most of the country, with heavy precipitation expected in the northeast and southeast. Frosts will hit at night in five regions.
