On June 15, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty, as well as at night in Aktobe, according to Kazhydromet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to weather forecasters, conditions conducive to the accumulation of pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere are predicted in these cities.
As experts explained, adverse weather conditions arise from a combination of calm winds, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion. Under such conditions, the dispersion of harmful impurities in the air worsens, which can lead to a temporary decrease in air quality.
Forecasters warn that during periods of adverse meteorological conditions, the risk of negative health impacts from polluted air increases, especially for people with chronic respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
Wind speed, humidity, air temperature, and precipitation also affect the level of air pollution.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors as much as possible, especially near highways and other emission sources.
Children, the elderly, and pregnant women are advised to limit long walks outside.
People with respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and allergies are recommended to carry necessary medications and avoid intense physical exertion outdoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that storm warnings were issued for all regions of Kazakhstan on June 15.
