In the Almaty region, preventive raids have begun simultaneously in three directions due to an increase in fires in mountainous areas. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations, employees of the Emergency Situations Department are inspecting fire-prone areas and conducting explanatory talks with local residents and vacationers.
The ministry urged people not to leave unextinguished campfires, not to throw cigarette butts, and not to burn dry vegetation.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a fire was localized on an area of 13 hectares in a mountainous area near the village of Kaynazar in the Almaty region. More than 50 people, 16 units of equipment, and a helicopter were involved in extinguishing it; the helicopter made 18 drops with a total volume of 54 tons of water. There was no threat to settlements, and no one was injured.
Thus, due to the increased fire danger in mountainous areas, rescuers have intensified preventive measures, calling on residents and vacationers to observe fire safety rules.
