In the Almaty region, in the Karasay district near Koksay village, a garbage fire at an unauthorized landfill covering 400 square meters has been localized. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
An uninterrupted water supply has been organized at the site. With the involvement of special equipment, work is underway to recultivate the territory and cover the combustion sources with soil.
Work to fully extinguish the fire continues.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that forest fires had engulfed three regions of Kazakhstan.
