Przewalski's horse foal born at Almaty Zoo, listed in Red Book

A foal of the Przewalski's horse, listed in the Red Book, was born at the Almaty Zoo. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the zoo's press service, the foal was born on July 15 in the afternoon. The mother and foal are in good condition and are under veterinary supervision.

This is the third offspring of Przewalski's horses at the Almaty Zoo this year. Two foals were born earlier. The Przewalski's horse is an endangered species listed in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Zoo specialists note that the foal is healthy and active. It is currently kept in a separate enclosure with its mother.
