Two maral families at the Almaty Zoo have welcomed offspring this year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The first calf was born on June 7 to marals named Turkistan and Alatau. It was named Maraltai. The second, Mukan, was born on September 10 to residents named Saraishyq and Chita.
"Today Maraltai and Mukan are feeling well, growing next to their mothers and are under daily observation by specialists," the zoo said.
The zoo showed touching footage of the calves.
Earlier, "Kursiv" reported that the Almaty Zoo's longtime resident crocodile Fidel celebrated his 40th anniversary. By the way, in summer, due to abnormal heat, animals had to be provided with additional cooling methods.
