Unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in three cities of Kazakhstan on October 21, Kazhydromet reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to weather forecasters, UMC are predicted in Atyrau and Almaty, and at night — in Zhezkazgan.
As specialists explain, unfavorable weather conditions arise from a combination of calm, weak wind, fog and temperature inversion. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to a deterioration in air quality.
Weather forecasters warn that during such periods the risk of negative health effects increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.
Air pollution levels are influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity and air temperature.
Residents are recommended to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to carry necessary medications. Experts advise limiting physical activity outdoors and, if possible, moving classes indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that storm warnings were announced in 17 regions of Kazakhstan.
