On August 15, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in three cities of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv.
According to Kazhydromet, NMU are forecast in Almaty and Atyrau, and at night — in Oskemen.
As experts explain, unfavorable weather conditions arise from a combination of calm, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to deterioration of air quality.
Forecasters warn that during such periods the risk of negative health effects increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.
The level of air pollution is influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to have necessary medications with them. Specialists advise limiting physical activity outdoors and, if possible, moving classes indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a storm warning was issued for most regions of Kazakhstan for August 15. Forecasters predict thunderstorms, hail, squally wind, dust storms, and extreme heat up to +43°C, according to RSE Kazhydromet.
