The state enterprise Kazhydromet reported that unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) are expected in eight cities of Kazakhstan on Thursday, September 17. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to weather forecasters, UMC are predicted in Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Temirtau, Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Atyrau and Astana.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, weak wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of atmospheric air.

When UMC occur, deterioration in atmospheric air quality in populated areas is possible, which affects people's health.

One of the most important factors determining the formation of the pollution level is the forecast of the synoptic situation (wind, precipitation, humidity, air temperature).

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Kazhydromet announced a storm warning for September 17 in some regions of Kazakhstan.

In the west, north and east of the country, rains with thunderstorms will occur. In the mountainous areas of the East Kazakhstan region, rain and wet snow are possible at night. In the rest of the territory, no significant precipitation is expected.
