Residents of three cities in Kazakhstan have been warned about unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) on August 29, 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the forecast of RSE "Kazhydromet", unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty, Aktobe, and at night in Atyrau.
In these regions, meteorological factors (calm, weak wind, and inversion) trap harmful emissions in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can sharply deteriorate air quality.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, weak wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of atmospheric air.
When UMC occur, the quality of atmospheric air in populated areas may deteriorate, affecting people's health.
One of the most important factors determining the level of pollution is the forecast of the synoptic situation (wind, precipitation, humidity, air temperature).
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that in Kazakhstan, the last days of August and the beginning of September will bring a sharp change in weather. According to Kazhydromet forecasts, in the north and east of the country, rain will turn into wet snow, and at night the temperature will drop to 1-3 degrees in some places. At the same time, in the south and southeast, heat up to +37 degrees will still persist.
