Social media circulated information that the Nauryzbai district of Almaty could be flooded. However, the city akimat denied this information. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the akimat, there was no flooding in the Nauryzbai district, and residents were not evacuated. "The preparation of temporary accommodation points is only a preventive measure provided for in the algorithms of actions in case of a possible threat. Despite the activation of the warning system, no requests from citizens for placement in temporary points have been received," the statement said.

Currently, city services and emergency services are monitoring the situation around the clock. They are also closely monitoring the situation in the Aksai River basin, the akimat said. Earlier, Kazhydromet had forecast possible mudflows in mountainous areas due to heavy rainfall.

"The situation is under constant control, monitoring of mudflow-prone areas is underway, rescue units are ready to respond quickly. To promptly inform the population, a local warning system has been launched in the Nauryzbai district. This is a preventive measure aimed at timely delivery of information to residents. Please remain calm and carefully follow official announcements," the akimat said.

The water flow is rising rapidly, so the main safety measure is to leave the danger zone in advance, the department reported. According to the Almaty akimat, on July 2, the risk of mudflows in the basin of the Malaya Almatinka River (Kishi Almaty) remains.
