Kazakh athletes excelled in road cycling. Alexey Lutsenko won his second gold medal at the XX Summer Asian Games held in Aichi–Nagoya (Japan). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The leader of Kazakhstan's national team was the first to reach the finish line in the men's 160.5-kilometer road race.
Lutsenko's result was 4 hours 13 minutes 11 seconds.
Thus, Alexey Lutsenko completed a golden double at the 2026 Asian Games, bringing his number of championship titles at continental competitions to six.
The Kazakh cyclist is competing at the Asian Games for the fourth time.
He won his first gold in 2014 in Incheon in the individual event. At the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Lutsenko won two gold medals in the individual and group races.
At the Asian Games in Hangzhou, he again became champion in the individual event and won silver in the group race.
Now in Japan, the athlete has added two more gold medals to his collection.
