Alexey Lutsenko won the group road race at the 2026 Asian Games and became the most decorated Kazakhstani in the history of the Summer Asian Games by number of gold medals. Evgeny Fedorov won silver in the same race. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Lutsenko covered the distance in 4 hours 13 minutes 11 seconds. Fedorov finished second, 1 minute 58 seconds behind – 4:15:09. The bronze medal went to Japan's Yuhi Todome – 4:15:51. Another Kazakhstani, Nicolas Vinokurov, took seventh place – 4:19:27.

For Lutsenko, this is his second gold at the current Asian Games. Earlier, the Kazakhstani also won the individual time trial.
After the victory, the 33-year-old cyclist brought his career total of Asian Games gold medals to six and set a record among Kazakhstani athletes. Previously, the achievement belonged to rower Konstantin Negodaev, who has five gold medals.
Lutsenko first became Asian Games champion in 2014 in Incheon. In Jakarta 2018, he won two golds, at the 2022 Games in Hangzhou – one gold and one silver, and in Aichi and Nagoya he added two more victories.
Now Kazakhstan's national team has 16 medals: seven gold, four silver and five bronze.
After the third day of the Games, Kazakhstan ranks fourth in the unofficial medal standings.
