According to local media, the woman was swimming in the lake when she was hit by a boat moving in reverse. The injured pensioner was rushed to the hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, doctors had to amputate both legs to save her life. Doctors say her condition is extremely serious.

According to the police of Zhetysu region, the incident occurred on the shore of Lake Alakol in the village of Koktuma. A criminal case has been opened. "All circumstances are being clarified," police said.
