The individual all-around final at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Germany has concluded. 16-year-old Kazakhstani athlete Akmaral Yerekesheva took sixth place. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
With a total score of 115.800 points across four apparatus, the Kazakhstani gymnast secured the sixth spot among 18 finalists.
Victory went to 2024 Olympic champion Daria Varfolomeev of Germany (119.500). Second place was claimed by 2023 world champion Stiliana Nikolova of Bulgaria (117.600). The bronze medalist of the 2024 Olympics, Sofia Raffaeli of Italy, took third place (117.550).
It is worth noting that this world championship is Yerekesheva's debut at the senior level. The Kazakhstani gymnast will also compete in the finals with clubs and ribbon.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships are taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, from August 12 to 16, with athletes from 78 countries participating. A total of nine medal sets will be awarded. The composition of the Kazakhstan national team is available here.
At the Asian Championships held in May in Bishkek, the Kazakhstan team won five silver and four bronze medals.
