Kurultai deputy Aizhan Aimaganova proposed creating an 'electronic protection zone' to prevent violence against women and children. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the deputy, although important measures are being taken to protect women and children from violence, tragic incidents still occur. In the Abai region, 20-year-old Dilnaz Zhumagulova died from multiple stab wounds, while in Astana, mother of two Zhazira Adauova was killed by her ex-husband.

"In this regard, an important question arises: to what extent do existing protection mechanisms allow not only reacting after violence has occurred, but also identifying and preventing threats in advance? We have the necessary legal and digital capabilities. The task now is to effectively use these capabilities, identify threats in a timely manner and protect human life and safety," Aimaganova said at the Kurultai session.

She cited France's experience as an example and noted that there is no need to create a new and expensive information system. According to the deputy, Kazakhstan has the necessary mechanisms for preventive registration and electronic monitoring, and they should be used effectively.

In this regard, Aizhan Aimaganova made several proposals to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In particular, it is necessary to develop and test a pilot project of the 'Electronic Protection Zone' in certain regions. It was also proposed to approve a unified mandatory algorithm for police actions when a threat signal is received.

In addition, every threat signal and the related measures taken should be automatically recorded in the digital system. "This will allow clearly seeing who, when and what measures were taken on each signal," the deputy concluded.
